A technology sometimes categorized as revolutionary for many sectors, additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is certainly making headlines.
Finally, if we had to give a definition of additive manufacturing (AM) we would suggest you using ISO / ASTM 52900’s definition, which tells us that it is the set of processes that allow us to manufacture, layer by layer, by adding material to a physical object from a digital object.
It is becoming more and more common to hear about AM in many sectors. From major innovations in the health sector, with the manufacturing of high-quality implants or prosthetics. As well as, weight reduction as a challenge and response to a problem in the aerospace industry, AM offers a number of solutions.
As far as we, at Precision IMS, are concerned, we have decided to focus on additive metal manufacturing since 2018 with a dedicated machine workshop. Because we are convinced that it can bring many benefits to our customers. As you can imagine, before investing in this technology, we have debated and studied the real assets and advantages that we could bring to you by opting for this manufacturing process.
